About Me

I am a veteran entertainment publicist, having worked with a variety of accounts, spanning from indie films, to film festivals, to personal publicity. I started my own boutique publicity label, Caitlin Hughes PR, in 2017 and have been gaining constant momentum in the industry ever since, now with a support staff on deck. I love to do an elaborate brainstorm with each project I work on, methodically deconstructing all the different facets that can be pitched, reaching the largest audience possible and thinking outside the box.

Recent distribution clients include Oscilloscope, Utopia, Yellow Veil Pictures, Drafthouse Films, PBS/POV, Topic Studios, Field of Vision, FilmRise, and Good Deed Entertainment, among others. Recent film festival clients include BAMcinemaFest, Brooklyn Horror Festival, and Indie Memphis Film Festival. I also work on the ongoing PR for Nitehawk Cinema, as well a rolling roster of music and comedy clients.

Prior to starting my own company, I ran entertainment publicity at Vimeo (notable projects include John Early and Kate Berlant's acclaimed web series "555" and Vimeo's flagship Staff Picks channel), and also served as Account Executive at Brigade Marketing for several years (notable projects include Sean Baker's TANGERINE, the web series incarnation of "High Maintenance," Rooftop Films, and many more).

I have an MA in Cinema Studies from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and a BA in both English and French from Rutgers University. When I’m not publicizing, I love to get outdoors with my dog, maintain a consistent yoga practice, host dinner parties, and work on my outsider art needlepoint projects.
